SET
OF NEW MODEL 12 RIBS
• PLANS
BUILT
• $1,900
Complete set of 52 new ribs exactly as per plans.
Jig made ribs are constructed of ¼” x ¼” and ¼” x ½”
Douglas Fir. Total weight of
ribs is 28 lbs.; only 1 ½ lbs. more than if spruce was used, but about
11% stronger. Note that the
plans call for Douglas Fir to be used for the spars. T-88 glue and
aircraft grade cement coated nails were used; no staples! Staples can
damage the wood fibers and are unsightly.
Aircraft grade Mahogany plywood was used for all gussets and
compression ribs. (grain in proper direction)
Nose pieces are of aircraft grade birch plywood.
These ribs are of the highest quality and extremely accurate. Each
rib has had the spar slots sanded for ease of installation and all have
been edge sanded. These ribs will
give the Model 12 builder a tremendous head start in construction.
My price of $2,900 is not cheap; but they are the best ribs one
could use in their aircraft. Why
not use the best? I have been
building aircraft and boats since 1954.
